Wanna make hats?

This has been a busy weekend since Mike got back home to stay!! It is so amazing to have him in our home again to stay-- he didn't have to leave us today to drive back to Richfield! He is off for some Farmers Insurance training tomorrow in Vegas. I'll be creating a webpage for him for his new job. Right now he is licensed to sell Farmers in Nevada, although he is hoping to eventually get licensed for Utah too. We know so many people in Utah, and we love to travel there, so that will be great when he can do that.

We spent much of this afternoon trying to get our van checked out as it is leaking oil and transmission fluid. Poor old thing. It HAS to last a few more years so we will baby it along.

Our home looks Christmassy!! I took a photo of our tree although I could not get those lights to show up even with the flash off. It's really pretty but you will have to take my word for it. =)

If any of you would like to make some chemo caps, I have a couple of older pattern that still do not have photos for them. I don't have that kind of yarn either, but I might make them just in Simply Soft and hope they work as I am trying to go through my site and get photos for everything.

If you CAN make those hats and take a digital photo to email me, I would be so thrilled. In fact, as you go through my site, and find patterns with now photos, please email me and let me know.

My sister Lynn sent me this recipe several years ago... good stuff!

Parmesan Potatoes for 4
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup flour
salt
pepper
seasoned salt

Put the above in a zip-lock bag and shake. Add seasonings to taste.
Peel 6 potatoes and cut lengthwise and then shake in bag of flour-cheese mixture.
Place in 9x13 pan. Melt 1/3 cup butter and pour over potatoes.
Bake for one hour at 350 degrees.

Serve with Ranch dressing.

Hacky Sack or (Stress Ball!)
pattern by Bev Qualheim - copyright 1996-2006 - all rights reserved

This is a really fun toy for teens! I've made them and given them for Christmas and their friends all soon wanted one too!
And moms-- you can make one for yourself or your stressed out husband because they make a great stress ball. °Ãœ°

Steel Hook size 7
Cotton thread - just a small amount - less than 1 oz. I used regular crochet cotton ('Peaches and Cream Type') for this one and it makes a tightly crocheted ball!
Ball size: Measures 2" across top and 1 3/4" tall
1/4 cup of plastic pellets

Begin: Ch 5, connect with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 2 (counts as 1st sc), 9 sc into ring, join with sl st at top of 1st sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, sc in same space, sc in each of the sts around, join with sl st at top of 1st sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, sc in same space, sc in next st, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) continue pattern to end, join with sl st.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, sc in same space, sc in next 2 sts (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) continue pattern to end, join with sl st.
Rnd 5: Ch 2, sc in same space, sc in next 3 sts (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) continue pattern to end, join with sl st.
Rnd 6: Ch 2, sc in same space, sc in next 4 sts (2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) continue pattern to end, join with sl st.
Rnd 7: Ch 2, (sc in next st) continue sc to end of round and connect as before.
Rnd 8-11: Same as rnd 7.

(now decrease back down)
Rnd 12: Ch 2, sc in next 4 sts, (skip next st, sc in next 5 sts) continue to end of rnd and join with sl st.
Rnd 13: Ch 2, sc in next 3 sts, (skip next st, sc in next 4 sts) continue to end of rnd and join with sl st.
I fill with the plastic pellets at this point. (I place mine in the cut of toe of an old nylon.)
Rnd 14: Ch 2, sc in next 2 sts, (skip next st, sc in next 3 sts) continue to end of rnd and join with sl st.
Rnd 15: Ch 2, sc in next st, (skip next st, sc in next 2 sts) continue to end of rnd and join with sl st.
Rnd 16: Repeat row 15.
Finish off by closing the hole with a final sl st across and tie off Leaving a 2" tail. Pull loose end/tail into ball.
