HEADBAND Pattern to make for shelters etc.,

Bev's TOASTY HEAD-BAND

Copyright 2007, Beverly A Qualheim - All Rights Reserved.
These would be great for LDS Humanitarian, Homeless Shelters, Pine Ridge Reservation etc.

Size 7-10 year old child (pre-teens through adults)
2 oz of worsted weight 4 ply yarn and 2 oz of sock yarn or baby yarn
I used
Red Heart worsted weight 4 ply yarn and 2 oz of Lion Brand Magic Stripes sock yarn for the headband in the photo.
Size 10 knitting needles

Cast on 10 sts (13 sts)
Row 1-78 (86): Knit every row holding the 2 strands of yarns together as one.
Bind off, cutting a 10" tail. Now fold band short ends together. Back stitch 4 sts to secure yarn. Cut yarn. Flip right side out.

Wonderful to give to shelters for this coming cold season, they are small and store easily, plus uses up your scraps of yarn!

I am considering starting a new group to replace my BevsCountryCottage newsletter. This BLOG has really replaced what I used to post on that newsletter, but this is so much better as I can use photos and more.

My vision for the new yahoo group would be one for people making things for LDS Humanitarian.
It would be for sharing pattern links and ideas for items needed by LDS humanitarian and for your local charity needs. We could also share ideas for making a Humanitarian Specialist Calling successful.

You can email me at bevqual at yahoo.com (at standing for @ of course) if you are interested in this. You do not have to be LDS/Mormon, just interested in helping make warm and needed items for people worldwide.

I need to run a child over to the high school for games.
HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE!
Bev
