Saturday evening

It's Saturday evening - been quite a week. I hurt my lower back earlier this week, and I have been couch bound quite a bit and in too much pain to accomplish very much at all, knitting or crocheting or anything else. Not my favorite place to be. My back still hurts but my son gave me a Priesthood Blessing and that has helped speed the healing. :)

The photo to the right is of a YOKE for cattle. Odd thing to post I know, but I have been feeling a little 'down' this week. Partially from the back pain, partially because I have not been outside much and I love to be out. Who knows why else... just been doing some serious introspection of my life, and my faults just come rising up to the surface when I do that too much. Not a good thing.

A little analysis from time to time is a good thing, searching for ways to improve, but when you dig too deeply and too long, you tend to focus too much on the negative and you see things you never knew were faults at all. Actually, perhaps not too bad of a thing, but time to move forward and not dwell...

Now that I have found those weaknesses and faults the question is how do I change for the positive? =) Here is the answer I am certain:

Matthew 11:28, 29, 30
"28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

My soul needs some rest... taking the Lord's yoke upon me is something I have not completely learned to do, but I am trying. The image is beautiful, as the yoke was created for 2 animals to share the load together, to walk together in harmony, sharing the weight of the load they were pulling. As we learn to share that load or burden with Christ, we will pull together and work together and our load will be lightened.

My eldest daughter is up at her Auntie's in BC, Canada.... she just arrived today and called to let me know she was having a lovely time already. I am wishing for a vacation for us, but not sure we will get one any time soon. Some relief from the extreme heat would be welcome. :)

The sun is just setting here, and preparing us all for peace and rest and another night of renewal.

I know I still need to post the pattern for the bonnet to complete the set and I will do that. I had it written down. I love little notebooks and I am afraid I have too many. I keep one in my purse for taking down thoughts that come to me that seem important, or to write things I hear that strike me as being great. I keep one with me as I go to doctors appointments etc, to write down patterns as I make them up. But I don't always grab the same booklet!! I know, I need to be better organized.

I will get that posted before too long. A tiny version of it is on this blog in an earlier post.

HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE!

Bev
