New ETSY shop for Bev's Country Cottage

I am working on creating some patterns to sell in the shop too, as I think they will sell faster than the clothes. Also wanting to work on some special booties that I sold back in the 80s and 90s made out of fleece. And some hair pretties would be lovely! They look so cute in little girls hair, so I did add some of those.
Anyhow, enjoy the shop, any ideas for items to sell, thoughts, creative criticism would be much appreciated. Love ya!
My daughter Katie just went for a walk to the cemetery to place some flowers on our friend's graves. I think it brings her a bit of peace. She put one on my friend Ruth's grave and that means a lot to me. Sometimes I miss Ruth a whole lot! She was a dear friend...
Well the sun is setting and the earth is glorious and peaceful here in the desert. The Lord is mindful of all of us, each of us. He knows what we are going through, and what we need. As we turn to Christ, we will feel inner peace even amidst total turmoil. He is there.

International what?????
Hi everyone!
I was zipping around and saw that next Saturday June 11th is the first 'International Yarn Bombing day'

I just feel like perhaps we could turn this 'event' into something really positive and good... and not just prettying up urban areas with knitted tree coats (!) (AHHHHH-- the wasted yarn that could be used to help warm and comfort others just blows my mind!)
Why not take our yarn stashes and turn them into newborn hats, booties, and blankets wherever we live, to actually help newborns in hospitals near us?

Next Saturday, I am going to commit to knitting or crocheting newborn hats and matching booties. We have company next weekend as our foreign exchange student's parents are flying here to pick her up (and take her back to Germany- sniff, cry, sniff) but I am sure I can take along my crocheting if we are in the car or...)
I am going pledge to make 5 sets! I might be crazy, since I rarely have time to even grab yarn these days, but I want to make a statement of my own. We knitters and crocheters love to use our yarn to pretty up people, especially babies!
And here is my fave take-along-crochet hat pattern for newborns:

Abbreviations: Rnd = round; Ch = chain; sl st = slip stitch; dc = double crochet
Less than 1 oz baby or sport yarn OR soft worsted weight yarn.
Size G or H hook (depending on how tightly you crochet)
Hat is about 5" - 5.5" tall, and measures 5.25" - 5.75" across at the base. * PLEASE make sure newborn hats are at least 5" tall!
TOP of hat - down:
Rnd 1: Chain 4, and join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Chain 3, (counts as a double crochet) then make 14 double crochets inside ring. Join with a slip stitch in top of 1st actual double crochet of previous round (not into the ch 3). (you have15 double crochets)
Rnd 2: Chain 3, dc into the base of the Ch 3. * 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, Repeat from * around making sure to dc into the base of the ch 3. (23 sts including ch3)
Join with a slip stitch in top of 1st dc of previous rnd.
Rnd 3: do it the same as the 2nd. (35 dcs including ch3)
Rnds 4 - 10: Ch 3 and make a dc in the same stitch, then dc in each dc around including into base of ch3 of the previous row, joining with a sl st in the top of the 1st dc of the round you just finished.. (Stitch counts: rnd 4 = 36, rnd 5 = 37 - increasing by 1 each rnd)
You can do a final loopy row of ch 4 skip a dc, sc into the next, ch 4, skip a dc, sc into the next etc.
You can also do rnd 10 using an alternating front post and back post dc.
Or sc around for an 11th row using an alternative color.
Little flower: Ch 8, join with a sl st in the first chain, ch 8, join again in that first chain, repeat to make 6 loops/petals. Thread the 2 ends (starting and ending yarn) into the hat, about 1 dc apart. Tie them together 3 times inside the hat.
