Monkey Monkey Monkey!

I just posted a brand new incredibly fun pattern on ETSY,
and also on Ravelry-- I will post that link here, ravelry one, cos it's cheaper for you, and you can download it immediately, don't have to wait for me to email it.

I am sure hoping to sell a lot of this pattern as it is a fun one for certain!!!  This has been weeks in the creating and typing.  I am making 2 of these for Christmas gifts for grandbabies! It's a fantastic book that my kids adored and the monkey in there was just always something I wanted to create for kids to play with!  And here he is.

Please let your friends know about him, as he would be a great toy for toys for tots, long with a copy of the book.

Bags!

I created a brand new page on my site, off of the household page, just for bags, backpacks etc.

Here you will find crocheted, knitted and sewing patterns for things like those neat stringy market bags, some sewing ones for purses, clutches and such, backpacks and lots more!
I am going to add more pattern links to that page as I find them, so if you find some good ones, please let me know and I will add them when I can. :)

Hats and scarves for Homeless Veterans

If you love to make hats, why not check with your local American Legion Auxiliary to see if hats and scarves are needed for your local Vets.  Many are sadly, homeless, and cold and forgotten.  You can remember them this year by making hats to help warm them.  There are both men and women former armed forces who are homeless, but more men than women, so more 'manly colors' are needed.

You can loom knit, hand knit, or crochet them, or even sew them from fleece fabric.  Be sure to used dark colors, mixed with cheery brights and avoid white or cream because these tend to get dirty faster. You can even hold a plan dark color together with a bright sock yarn for more warmth. I like to make hats with maybe navy blue and a few stripes of colorful variegated yarns!

If you need patterns I have loads listed on this page, waiting to be printed out and crocheted and knitted.

or a new one by Bev created just for this project as our library group is helping the homeless Vets in Vegas.

Scarves are needed too:

Scarves are always welcome too and really serve to ward off those cold winds in many ways.  Here one I started the other day for our Library Knit and Crochet for Others group.

A simple scarf can be knitted using size 11 needles and one or two strands of worsted weight yarn.
Cast one 18 sts and knit until scarf is 50" - 60" long.
Cast off and weave in yarn ends.

You can also crochet a simple scarf:
