Hats to help kids!

Hi everyone!!  Happy Friday!

Here is a simple hat pattern that would be a good size to make for the kids:

Bev's Basic Hodge-Podge Beanie  copyright Bev Qualheim 2011 Brimless beanie hat In 5 sizes - Babies, Elementary school kids, Teens/small woman, Women's, Mens.
Crochet Hook size G or H  (
If you crochet tightly use an I or J hook.)
3 oz worsted weight yarn - use one color, or use a hodge-podge of colors, joining whenever you run out if yarn! Looks so cool!

Gauge: 7  hdc = 2"   6 rows= 2"

This is a great way to use up your yarn stash.  I recommend using a single type of yarn. You want these to be nice and warm.  You can also make them with a strand of worsted weight held with a strand of sock yarn. There are many homeless, or those who don't have adequate warmth, and these beanies are needed by the dozens in every city!
