I am going to be a grandma!
Can you believe it? I am really excited and of course have been going through my yarns and material and the mind has been running overtime thinking of things to make the little one. He is due at the end of June, but since when do babies arrive when they are supposed to? I know mine sure didn't! (But that's how we got Bev's Country Cottage and all the preemie patterns!)

I have one of those little baby-widgets to put on the side here. I didn't see one just for grannies. If any of you know one for grandmas please let me know.

Meanwhile I want to post this one for Shaun and Joanna.

I am thinking booties, hats, blankets, maybe a teddy bear? So much to knit, so little time!

What a lucky grandchild to have YOU for a grandmother! Please post pics of the layette you decide to make for Baby Qualheim. How exciting, I'm very happy for you. :)

Dear Bev -

Becoming a grandparent is a very special stage of life. As spouses and parents, we thought we knew about love, but there is a new and very special relationship between a grandparent and grandchild, more wonderful than we could have anticipated. Blessings to you and the parents-to-be. Enjoy every moment!

How wonderful!!! My grandson will be 1 in May. So enjoy making the tiny things it doesn't last long before its toddler sizes. I just made Gus T. a frog sweater no pic up yet, but soon. Ice storm so no power for over a was nice... we heat with wood and I cooked on the wood stove burying potatoes in the ashes etc. We lay back ( store supplies) so no problem for us. The National Guard came and picked up people in our area. The storage links info on your pages are so valuable to others now aware of the need to have food storage. Enjoy this waiting and dreaming time. I am sure I speak for all we want updates and then pics.

I am having a minor meltdown right now. I sent a box of winter gear to Crafting Angels in Early December and I just looked on the site and it said not to send anything, but the update was in November. So, I don't know where my box is now. Is there any way you could find out?
P.S. Congrats on your new family member!!

Congratulations on your grandchild-to-be! Your comment about babies not coming when they're supposed to is actually why I'm here--I wanted to hop over and thank you for your preemie pattern website. I've just learned my neighbor's in the hospital and will probably deliver any day now...and she's only 35 weeks. So I wanted to make their first baby a special hat that will fit, and your website fit the ticket. Thank you so much!

congratulations on being a grandma. I have a question about the chemo caps can they be made from a cotton yarn like sugar and cream for the summer. This the first time I have ever written on a blog

I personally think Sugar and Cream is a bit heavy and not soft enough, but I am no expert on chemo caps made with cotton. There are lighter weight cottons out there that may work better.

I normally just make them from Simply Soft.
