Bev's Slippers for men

BEV'S WINTER SLIPPERS for the GUYS!
(c) 2006 Beverly A. Qualheim -All Rights Reserved
Size H hook
2 -3 oz WW yarn
I used a single strand of Red Heart worst weight yarn, but you could make them warmer with a 2nd strand of sock yarn or fingering yarn. You could also make these a few rows longer for men. They stretch really nicely too. These fit men size 10-12

RND 1: Ch 2 then make 13 dc inthe 2nd chain from the hook. Join with a sl st to the top of the original ch 2. (13 sts)

RND 2: Ch 2, make another dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around. Join with sl st in top of ch 2 of previous rnd. (26 sts)

RND 3: Ch 2, make another dc in same st as ch 2, *dc in next 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc to the end. Join. (28)

RND 4 - 10: Ch 2, dc in same st, dc in each dc around including the very last one. Join.

Row 11: (back of foot and heel)
Ch 2, dc in same st, then dc in next 21 dcs (leaving 7 dc unworked) . You are now going back and forth.

Row 12-18: Dc in 2nd chain from hook and in each dc across, including the very last dc.

Slip stitch the heel closed, matching stitch for stitch. Cut yarn with 4" tail and wave back inside the slipper.

Top
Add a contrasting color. Ch 2, and dc around foot opening - or a total of 30 or 32 dcs for the opening of the foot. Join.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in each dc around. Join.
Rnd 3: Ch 2 then alternate front post stich and back post stitch around.

Cut yarn with 4" tail, weave back and forth inside slipper.

---------------------------
This is the men's version of the slipper pattern I came up with the other day. A sweet lady from our Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came over today with 16 pairs of wonderful slippers for Red Cliffs Nursing home! =) I have 3 pairs made. Actually I made 2 other pairs for family members for Christmas too, and have at least 1 more pair to do.

-------------------------

I had to add a photo I took a bit ago of COOKIE our Shih zhu puppy! She is 4 months old now and SO adorable! Is she the cutest little girl you ever saw? She loves to sleep this way-- her legs stretched out on the doggie bed and the rest of her on the wood floor.

HUGS!

How big will Cookie get? it's so cute.

I don't think she will get a whole lot bigger, some, but not a lot. Our neighbor has a shih tzu dog and he is a bit bigger like in the shoulders and such but not a lot taller.

She is such a good baby!! And very loved. =)
