Bevs Country Cottage is down....

My website is down for the rest of the month apparently- unless I can find a new, more reliable host and then transfer everything as fast as possible. IPOWERWEB who host it now, moved it to a new place yesterday, and then emailed me to tell me I was using too much bandwidth- which was crazy as I have actually used less bandwidth than last month!

I have emailed them 4 times since yesterday, called 3 today and no one answers. I have been in tears ...

Not a great day for me but I will spare you details. We all have those days...

I am looking around for an affordable and reliable, honest, web-hosting system to transfer my stuff. Know of one?

Well, I wanted to let my readers know, and I am sorry you can't access the free patterns on there. There are a few on this blog.

HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE,
Bev

dreamhost is a pretty good hosting service. it's like $10 a month (but you have to drop like $50 up front), and if you start to go over, they don't immediately take the site down, they let you know and give you options for buying more hosting options.

but, for example, lime and violet (dot com) have their hosting through them, and have never had their sites go down due to bandwidth issues.

Bev, Sorry to hear about your provider problems. Judy Laquidara recently moved her web sites. She writes about the change in News You can Use on her Blogger blog. You can find an email link for her there or on her new Patchwork Times blog.

Hello!

I live in Las Vegas, and I found your website by googling "baby blanket donation las vegas." I just started a new club called Service Fun. Our mission is to plan monthly kid-friendly service projects.

This month, we are going to sew baby blankets for indigent newborns, and I found a recipient for the blankets - UMC - through your website! Thank you so much for compiling that information. By the way, here's the website for Service Fun:

www.servicefun.org

I hope your blog tech problem resolves soon!

Thanks everyone! The site is back up now, and I am working on adjusting some pages like the baby page. Shrinking graphics etc.

What I need is unlimited bandwidth as I use a TON with a website that is nearly 1,000 pages and gets millions of hits a month. That uses more than normal amounts of bandwidth. I upgraded for now and it seems to be ok today.

Oh for heavens sake Bev. Have you considered goning through Costco? They have really cheap service meaning cost not service itself. And you can have tons of space and bandwidth. Might go to Costco.com and see. Might be well worth it. Its only like 14 a month. Anyway I am so sorry. And HAIN uses your site ALL THE TIME!!!!

I am actually looking to have unlimited bandwidth for my website, and $12 a month. I didn't know Cosco even offered website hosting. Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure I understand where one would get unlimited bandwidth. Wouldn't all hosting services have to limit bandwidth to what they are able to provide? Anyway maybe check out http://totalchoicehosting.com/ I have found them to be excellent.
