My weekend challenge

I made 5 dolls and 1 pair of newborn booties to honor President Hinckley. Mostly I worked on them during his funeral.

What a beautiful, and lasting tribute that was to a great man. He was loved by many people worldwide and especially in the Salt Lake community itself. I love how he would verbalize and truly felt in his heart that we 'are all friends' and that we should all be friends. That we should focus on what we hold in common belief and not focus on the things we do not.

Amen to that!

Our Stake President asked us recently to read the entire Book of Mormon again, cover to cover before our next Stake Conference the first week of June. This morning a neat website ( was sent to me and I signed up to read it in 99 days. There is even a place to chart where you are.

I was studying our new RS manual yesterday "The Teachings of Joseph Smith" and read this profound statement of truth.

“While one portion of the human race is judging and condemning the other without mercy, the Great Parent of the universe looks upon the whole of the human family with a fatherly care and paternal regard; He views them as His offspring, and without any of those contracted feelings that influence the children of men, causes ‘His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.’ [Matthew 5:45.]”

Please read that 2 or 3 times and let the meaning sink deep into your soul.

Our Heavenly Father truly LOVES all of us. His son, Jesus Christ truly loves each one of us! We are so concerned about petty things. Whilst God is just watching over us, loving us, viewing us as His children, which we are...

Let's reach out to someone today in any way we can. You can smile at someone, or open a door for them, go visit a widow, knit a hat, bake some cookies for someone who is down, pray for someone you have lost contact with...

Have a fabulous day today! I am finally feeling much better, scraped the frost off the van windows, the sun is shining, the birds are singing (your robins fly south here to see us!) and God is in His Heavens!
