Come on voters - ok this is political

Ok- let's be educated now and KNOW which candidate stands for what ok? Forget the MEDIA!! Be educated here people!

A small example of not knowing. Howard Stern normally disgusts me, but this was a fascinating 'man on the street' interview that my son Shaun emailed to me.

"Howard Stern sends a correspondent out to talk to Harlem voters about Obama. The only twist? The correspondent intentionally attributes McCain’s positions to Obama, even saying “Do you support Obama’s choice of Sarah Palin to be his VP?” Incredibly, it didn’t seem to phase these voters in their support of Obama:"

When you vote in a couple of weeks, PLEASE vote intelligently!

-----------------------------

Ok now onto... Obama's VP choice... info from the Washington Post. This is Joe Biden speaking Sunday, Oct. 19th

"Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America," Biden was quoted telling a fundraiser in Seattle on Sunday. "Remember I said it standing here, if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

-------------------------------

Hmmm.... are you not a bit scared by this??? I don't know about you but I really don't want an international crisis generated by electing Obama! I think we have enough crisis' in the world right now thank you.

Ok- here are my thoughts on all this- first and foremost forget political correctness!

Vote for what is RIGHT!
* Vote for strengthening families.
* Vote for marriage ONLY between a man and a woman.
* Vote for revering human life, especially unborn human beings.
* Vote to help our troops, NOT cut funding to them (are you crazy?)
* Vote for continued FREEDOM of speech.
* Vote for freedom to work hard and earn money honestly, without having it taken away to be 'distributed evenly'. Excuse me Obama. How about if *I* decide where I want to spend MY hard earned money?

I just feel a socialist agenda being thrust our way.

I promise I will get back to my regularly scheduled blog, family oriented, and humanitarian minded, but I had to get this off my chest.

HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE today =)

I am actually surprised I am not getting 'lamb-basted' over this one. Seems so many knitters and crocheters are also left-wingers.

I am glad there are others who agree with me on this one.. basic human freedoms and rights need to be preserved.

I promise I will get back to knitting and holidays and lighter things now.

Love you Bev, but your political comments tend to offend me. It has always been nice to come here and leave politics out of a ministry that is set to serve all people based on need and irregardless of their political choices. I respect your right to vote for McCain, but please respect the rest of us who choose to vote for Obama. Cyn from Florida

I am sorry you took offense Cyn, but I am VERY afraid for this country right now.

The media bombards us with biased information and I feel I need to speak up this one time before the election hits.

One of the things I am very afraid of is that our ability to even post on here in opposition to the mainstream bias is that our VOICE will be silenced in the future. Look what they are doing to that plumber Joe who dared to question Obama! Goodness! Have you even read what they are doing to that poor hard working man?!!

I respect your right to vote for whomever you choose, but I fear that will be taken away if we veer to the left/socialism/communism too much.

All these political lies and stabbings, and media digging up dirt ONLY on republicans bothers me deeply. Goodness if McCain has had friendship ties with terrorists as Obama has/and still has, the media would be all over him, but for some odd reason that is being brushed under the rug with Obama...

The Lord Jesus Christ taught us to Love and Serve One Another and that is what I am most comfortable with. As I said I will get back now to posting more holiday and pattern info and other lighter things.

There are so many, many in need in this world, mostly because of corrupt government oppression and silencing.

Please know I love you too Cyn, but I will always speak up for preserving marriage and family and our God given freedoms that we enjoy in America.

Ha! I posted that on my blog too!

I found your blog by searching for how to crochet a baby hat. Thanks for your site. I hope to find some useful information on it.

Bev you have as much right to posting your concerns as anyone. This blog is yours to do this. I do think the comment from the poster was out of place. Even if I DIDN'T agree with you, I would simply think hum its your opinion.
Anyway I am behind you girl.

Oh I don't mind Cyn's post. I thought she was very kind about it.

I have received much, MUCH worse through the years - mostly about my religious beliefs and how I live my life. I've even been raked over the coals for helping the innocent babies and kids over in Iraq. It's all part of being on earth I guess. :)

I never meant to offend Bev or anyone for my opinion....I believe in allot of what she shares and think she is a wonderful, kind, Godly woman. My thoughts (and I may have used the wrong words) is that this has been such a stressful political campaign - with he said she said games by both parties....and even my personal email has been heavy with political emails by friends and relatives....that frankly it was refreshing to come to Bev's Blog and not have to "hear/read" about political stuff. Yes I acknowledge this is Bev's blog and she has the "right" to post what she wants........but as an avid loyal fan of Bev's I just wanted her to know that there are many of us out here....who would love to just stop in and not have to hear anything with political undertones. Bev if I did offend you I apologize. Cyn from Florida

Heck no! You didn't offend me Cyn. I love ya and let me tell you it would take a lot more than that to offend me!

I'm Mormon and trust me I have had enough mud slung at me, that I can take just about anything these days.

I am just glad you are still here reading hon.

BIG HUGS!!

Bev, I would never leave your web site...it is wonderful and portrays you and your unselfishness ! I am familiar with the "Morman" religion, having myself once been baptized Morman, (but I have since left being Morman). Believe me you and your family being Morman does not turn me off! There are many of us "left-wingers" out there who do have some conservative beliefs :o) Everytime I see a missionary on his or her bikes or walking (do some get cars now? )...I do get a warm fuzzy within my heart, for them to be giving a year of their life and be out ministering and teaching ! Anyway I just wanted you to know this....Cyn from Florida P.S. Sorry to be a pest :o)

Hi Cyn
This is so cool- I think the thread is the most comments on a thread ever on my blog!!!
WOO HOOO!!

I didn't know you were once a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon).

My 3rd son is currently serving a mission for the Church in the Dakotas. Hoping is he staying warm! Some have cars, some have bikes now, depends on the area.

They actually sacrifice 2 years at their own expense out there teaching and learning compassionate service as never before. The young men are usually 19 - 21 when they serve, and the young women go for a year and a half and they leave at 21.

This is cool....I enjoy chatting....when I was Morman...in the 70's/80's....the missionarys I knew were serving one year....things have changed ! We had several over for dinner :o) I think them serving is good...for them and of course for all of us out there ! Sometimes I wonder if my ex-husband and I had stayed with the Morman religion and been better at attending service...maybe my sons would have benefited so much more...my ex-husbands family are all LDS...I was the transplant ! One thing about the LDS church is that they are very family oriented and believe in really helping each other out! Your son that is on his mission now in the Dakotas....is he working with the Indians? I will keep him on my prayer list :o) Cyn
P.S. Don't ya love being a gandma? I am a grandma of 4 ! What a blessing !

bevq said...

I do LOVE being a granny!! It's the best part of being a parent! =)

My son isn't working with the Native American's that I am aware of. He is Mandan ND right now.

I took the discussions back in the late 70s.. and at that time they had switched from 2 yr missions to 18 month missions. They are now back to 2 years for the men.

I am off to relax and knit for a while. I am working on a hat pattern to post on my site, that will keep so many people warm and toasty!!

Bev,
Found you on the Rav and just wanted to lend my support as well. It's not easy standing firm on your beliefs and ideals, but you know you will always have THE most important One in your corner. It won't matter if yours if the only Christian voice to be heard, Our Heavenly Father knows it and will bless you for it.
