Husband's accident
Just wanted everyone to know why I won't be updating much.
On Sat. Nov 15th my husband had a moped accident and face-planted into a road sign. They air lifted him to UMC's Trauma unit in Vegas, and he was released yesterday, thanks to many, many prayers being sent up to our Heavenly Father.
Thankfully, he was wearing a full motorcycle helmet, with face guard, when he crashed, and because of that he is alive. He broke 2 bones in his neck, and had abbrasions to his left face. He also has a bad cut on his left knee.
Our son Christopher and his wife Danielle drive immediately down here to be with me and help me as we had no idea what the outcome would be. Our eldest son Shaun also offered to fly out here as did both of my wonderful sisters!! God bless all of you.
I am now learning to take care of someone with a broken neck, cleaning and changing his neck brace, and caring for him as he recovers, and thankful for the opportunity to serve him. I am also working at the Logandale Seminary in the mornings, after I get Mike comfy, and fed; and helping sort out his Farmers Insurance business-- his co-workers in Vegas are helping us with that now. I just need to get a sign posted on his office door with a phone number besides mine to call. They are being wonderful to help him like this.
The LDS Church members here, of course, have been just angels - they were the first on the scene when the ambulance arrived and providing 'first responder' aid to him when it happened. They have comforted me, several members took over my Sunday School party I was holding when the accident happened. They helped the kids tie a quilt I had set up for them, the little ones all made drawings and cards for Mike to cheer him. They have been bringing in meals and giving me rides to the hospital to visit Mike.
Just beautiful angels...
Well, I need to go run errands but I want all of you to know, I won't be answering much mail here or on my website for a bit. I will get to them when I can. The phones have been ringing off the hooks so I am also trying to take care of that. So many people who care.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving! Be safe, and tell the ones you love how much you love them. Thank them for all they do for you. Thank your Father in Heaven for all His tender mercies to you.... and
HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE!
Bev
